25 truths

‎1. The earlier you recognize life is a gift, the better. Don't take any day, any hour or any moment for granted

‎2. When you find something - some activity or hobby - that clears your mind...do it often enough to make sure your mind stays uncluttered with distressful thoughts and unnecessary worry. For me it's spin class and driving moderately fast :)

‎3. It's never too late to reach out to someone in your network or an old friend to say hello...even if it's been years. Worst thing that can happen is they don't respond

‎4. I'm a huge fan of premium television...from dramatic series shows to exclusive movies. I don't see this changing even when I consider how much money I'd save. Long live HBO, Showtime and Starz

‎5. I don't think the early bird always gets the worm, but they sure have a whole lot more time in the day to get things done.

‎6. Sometimes it's really okay to just do nothing

‎7. Don't just be a friend or send love when it's time for a wedding, baby birth or death in the family. Be there and be supportive during other life victories/celebrations and the short term pains as well.

‎8. Life ebbs and flows. Sometimes things or people you forgot about years ago come to the surface when you least expect it. I've learned to embrace the cyclical nature of life...

‎9. Trying new things is something you should make a continuous part of your life no matter how old and set in your ways you get

‎10. Find something that always makes you laugh no matter how many times you see it or hear it. A key to getting through life is to be able to laugh at yourself also. Laugh everyday at least once.

‎11. This little gem is via a dear friend - "Take the lessons and leave the baggage

‎12. Technology is great, but pick up the phone sometimes. Texting, emailing, etc. will never get the message across as well as talking

‎13. Luck is a combination of blessing, persistence, skill, timing, who you know, what you know, right time/right place and how you roll the dice, except in Vegas where luck is just...well...luck

‎14. Some people will always repeat alot of things i.e. "I miss you," "I want to do [insert goal]." etc. but never seem to get that actions and effort to back up what is said count a whole lot more than just words. Seeing is believing

15. People make time for what they want to make time for...

‎16. It is worth it to build patience...because all things come in their due time. Getting through "35 lessons learned" is also teaching me patience. :)

‎17. They say you shouldn't do business with friends..and I suppose in most cases that is true, but I do believe you can become friends with people you've met through business

‎18. Never take for granted the simple pleasantries of life

‎19. As much as you may want to or try, you just can't predict where life will take you and when things will happen in your life. Buckle up and enjoy the ride

‎20. Time is one of those things you can't get back...and while energy may be restored, choose wisely on who and what you give both of those precious resources to.

‎21. You should be able to have as much fun with and by yourself as you do with a crowd of folks. Self love = enjoying solo time.

‎22. Everyone talks about people. Just face this as fact. However, make sure your closest friends will also talk about you to your face and remain honest with you at all times, even when it hurts.

‎23. Say what you mean and mean what you say. One of the things you should always keep in this world is your word
‎24. "Everyday can't be a Saturday." This is true. I've had such an awesome life and have gotten used to "go go go" so much that sometimes slow makes me sad. I'm learning to love slow cause time goes by fast enough as it is and tis true everyday can't be steak, seafood, smooth cocktails, slick black sofas and socializing...but tonight will. - STK
‎25. It's okay not to get your hopes up too high, but you should never lose your faith
